Round elastic / elastic cord is a round, elastic cord that is available in many thicknesses and is ideal for fine and robust sewing work. It is an indispensable helper for hobby sewers: thin elastic cords are suitable for cord stoppers, hair elastics or fine tunnels, while thicker round elastics provide the necessary support for rib knits and masks.
What is round elastic / elastic cord suitable for?

Processing tips for a clean result
A safety pin or a special puller (bodkin) helps when pulling in the cord so that it slides easily through the tunnel. Always measure the required length a little more generously and shorten it after threading - this will prevent the garment from being too tight. A stretchy seam such as a zigzag or triple zigzag is recommended for sewing; if you are sewing over the cord, stretch it slightly and sew carefully at a slower sewing speed.
Pay attention to the care instructions when washing: Stretch materials can lose elasticity when exposed to very high heat, so it is better to wash at moderate temperatures and do not iron them hot. Double knots, small metal sleeves (crimps) or heat-shrunk end caps are suitable for permanently securing the ends in decorative projects.
