Which threads are suitable for what?
- Polyester/Poly Sheen: Very colorfast and hard-wearing, ideal for clothing and frequently washed textiles.
- Poly Sheen Multi / Multicolor yarn: Color gradients without changing threads, great for playful designs and accents.
- Silk-Finish Cotton 60: Matt, soft appearance for a natural look, well suited for baby and children's clothing.
- Metallic: Creates glittering effects; often requires finer needles and adjusted machine settings.
- Bobbin Fil: Thin bobbin thread that is particularly suitable for fine bobbin threads and seamless backings.
Tips for processing
When machine embroidering, make sure you use the right combination of thread, needle size and stabilizer. A suitable embroidery hoop and sufficient tension prevent creases and distortion. Metallic threads usually require a slower embroidery speed and special needles, while cotton threads require a different tension than polyester. Use bobbin thread for fine bobbin threads to keep the back clean and smooth.
